2022 draws to a close on a busy and deeply satisfying note for me. Apart from reading less books than I normally do I signed with Big Sky Publishing to bring the Damien Hunter Series to life in a three-novel deal, in January. On the 12th of December 2022, the first in the series, Battle Born, hit stores. A cool and exciting event for me. It is the first novel I have released which is available in traditional bricks and mortar stores. Though I’ve not seen it on a shelf yet, I look every time.
This year I delivered all three of the novels required to satisfy my contract with Big Sky Publishing. The second novel is due to be released by May 2023 and the third by December 2023. Tomorrow, 01st of January 2023, I start the fourth novel to continue Damien Hunter’s action-packed journey through life.
For the first time in many years, I decided to raise money as part of the BrothersnBooks campaign with Legacy to help veterans in need. As a veteran it's a subject close to me.
2023 will see novels four and five in the Damien Hunter series taking form. A new path for me will be to begin the search for an agent. Currently, I do everything myself and need more exposure to make this dream a full reality.
So, no need for a drum roll or any further excitement, here is my reading list for 2022. As per the norm, if you have OCD just rearrange it in your mind. For those wondering why I’m still after all these years still reading the Surviving the Evacuation series by Frank Tayell, it’s a 20 novel set so takes time. I also reignited my love for Robert McCammon’s works. His novels have influenced me in many ways. Robert can describe a scene into a perfect picture in my mind to a level of detail I still cannot achieve. Amazing writer.
Only 27 this year.
