It’s been a while since I’ve blogged about Damien and his series of novels, which are now two manuscripts into the journey.
Battle Born has been edited, beta read and redrafted to address issues with the start and some accuracy problems. Now it’s time to pitch. August is my pitching month as I search for a publishing house who will take on the series, which now runs out to 8 novels, but I can push that out to 10 without too many issues. The Damien Hunter series is the first I will not automatically independently publish but take the path of traditional publishing. Which means a longer road until it is in the hands of my readers, unfortunately. So, Battle Born is ready to take its next steps.
Ghosts in the Fog, the second novel has been drafted and is waiting patiently for me to have some spare time to sit and take on the redraft. Ghosts in the Fog sees Damien out of Taipan, dealing with his mental health. Trying to keep a low profile, he finds himself working on a Russian gas platform in the Arctic as the only Australian roughneck on the rig. Trouble as always follows Damien and he finds himself in the midst of a Chechen separatist group’s attack on the rig, which is the trigger for a new offensive against Russia. Taipan is never too far from Damien’s life, even if he doesn’t realise it. The novel continues my style of fast paced, accurate action story telling.
For the lovers of stats, Ghost in the Fog came out at 95,000 words and took 28 days to write.
I’ll keep everyone updated on the journey of Battle Born through the pitching process.
